Philip L. Brooks brings the ability to combine insightful analytical skills and creativity in solving client problems and managing people. Critical skills developed include: effective complex project, department and corporate management; successful marketing and sales; recruiting; and training. Particular expertise developed in finance, accounting, intellectual property economics and decision analysis. Proficient with a large array of software packages including database, spreadsheet, decision analysis, accounting, word processing, graphics and Internet tools.

Currently Phil is co-founder and Managing Member of Brooks Consulting LLC. Publisher of Philip Brooks’ Patent Infringement Updates blog for over six years. During the course of a 28-year business career, addressed issues related to business interruption, contract disputes, patent infringement, antitrust, environmental and construction claims. In addition, Phil has held positions of CEO, COO, CFO and Controller at seven companies incorporating: strategy; finance; accounting; sales and marketing; vendor, facilities and information technology management; and evaluating, establishing and managing human resource programs, including employee benefit plans.

Elected partner in seven years at one of the most well respected litigation consulting firms in the country (Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett, Inc. – now PA Consulting). Has experience in building boutique consulting practices within the Big Six (now Big Four) accounting firm environment and a high technology PR firm in Pittsburgh. In addition, has four years of technical experience in analytical chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry.

Mr. Brooks was a founding member of the board of directors of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and its former President and Treasurer. He was elected to the board of the Allegheny Land Trust in 2005 and serves as Chairman of the Board and President. He has also served as a Technical Advisor to BlueTree Allied Angels, a regional group of accredited investors who desire to invest in regional early-stage companies. In addition, he is an active member of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association and the American Bar Association, and was a member, for over 15 years, of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Mr. Brooks earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.S. in Pharmacotherapeutics from Long Island University, and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Connecticut.
